Zoe Hardman and Georgia Dayton are the founders of Made by Mammas, created out of a chance coffee shop meeting. They were both pregnant and instantly made a connection, this lead to them becoming a huge part of one another’s lives.
The Made by Mammas website and IG account were created. This has lead to a wonderful community where like minded parents can have a space to listen, share or read advice. The intention to support and not judge the array of things, as parents, we can all go through Is at the heart of this inspiring concept.
As a mummy to two boys, I don’t think anything can quite prepare you for motherhood with its highs and lows, sometimes going through every emotion under the sun all in one day. Really, we are all just trying to figure out our own paths, juggling the everyday realness of parenting!
Both Georgia and Zoe approach motherhood with a positive, open attitude, sharing with others that perfection can not be achieved 100% of the time and that doing our best is all that really matters. They personally put out there their own struggles and successes to ensure we as parents do not feel alone.
Their podcasts are all about having honest and open conversations around so many different areas of being a mum! I have throughly enjoyed listening to them and learning from others and their experiences.
So, if your a new mummy or a parent to a ‘threenager‘ reading this, head over and have a listen to their podcasts, I think you’ll really enjoy them.
It was an absolute pleasure to be able to ask both Georgia and Zoe some questions about their current skincare routines and the products they use to achieve an “I have had 8 hours of sleep” look when in reality you may have been lucky to manage around 3 hours! Those early years can be tough on the old sleep deprivation front and I’m speaking from experience!
As we transition in to the autumnal season do you like to change up your skincare routine? Which 3 products do you like to incorporate into your routine to ensure your skin remains balanced?
Yes, as soon as the heating goes on we find our skin starts to suffer.
We mostly look for products that are going to keep the moisture in the skin, so for us it’s about upping the hyaluronic acid, using a richer moisturiser and using a nourishing face mask more frequently.
What is most important to you when choosing to invest in skincare?
It sounds obvious, but we only invest in brands that we feel actually work. So many products come with unrealistic claims and it’s about finding what actually works for you and sticking to it.
What skincare and make up products do you use to help enhance a healthy, glowing complexion? (For those days when we have only managed to survive on little sleep!)
We both love glowing skin. It obviously starts with skincare and anything with retinol and hyaluronic acid seems to do the trick for us. A good concealer, highlighter and a bit of bronzer can make you look like you’ve had eight hours sleep when really it’s closer to eight minutes!
Becoming a mother has really taught me the value of self care and looking after ones self to ensure we can look after others. How do you replenish your energy levels and how do you like to incorporate self care into your busy lives? We completely agree, self care is so important. For us self care is an hour in the gym, it’s amazing how some exercise can boost your energy levels and lift your mood.
What would be the one beauty treatment you couldn’t live without and why? And is there a beauty treatment you would like to experience that you haven’t got round to booking yet?
We both love a facial and recently tried LPG® endermologie and were so impressed at the instant plumping results. It’s also a good balance between an instant results treatment and a relaxing one!
We’re also really keen to try the Face Place facial.
As the awareness for sustainability within the skin and beauty industry becomes more widely spoken about, what are your thoughts on sustainability ~ have you made any sustainable swaps in your beauty routine or is this something you would like to introduce?
The beauty industry has a long way to go when it comes to packaging etc… but we’ve both been making a conscious effort to make small changes. Firstly, to actually use our products until they’re empty before opening something else. We can both be guilty of jumping to try something new as soon as it comes out. Lots of brands are selling their hero products in jumbo sizes, so when we like a product we buy it in a big size to cut down on packaging.
Could you share the best piece of beauty advice you were given and that you still use/do today?
It sounds so obvious but it really is to look after your skin. Never sleep in make up, no matter how tired/drunk you are take 5 minutes to take it all off properly and moisturise.
