What is multi-masking and why should I be doing it - you may ask?!
Multi Masking is where you apply multiple masks at once to different areas of your face and neck, that can address a variety of skin concerns and conditions.
Since becoming a mummy I know that time can be hard pressed, especially when taking care of your skin. We become the last priority on an ever growing 'to do' list, that we usually cut corners with our own self care. Whether you have a new born baby accompanied by sleepless nights, toddlers who are at that 'in to everything' stage, teenagers and their waves of hormones or even just a busy work and social life, finding time to address how your skin reacts to lifestyle changes is possibly not high on your agenda of things to do.
Multi Masking allows you the time to address more than one skin concern and gets you to actually evaluate how your skin feels and looks. An ideal time to mask is in the evenings when you actually have 10 minutes or hopefully more to unwind.
Apply your masks when you are catching up with a tv series, podcast or emails. You could even combine it with your bath or when your in the shower to really extend your multi-tasking window of opportunity!
Masks are great for indulging in self care time that in turn can lower stress levels, so why not incorporate this mindful ritual 1-2 times a week!
Lets get started!
Think about what you want your masks to do and what you want to achieve in relation to how your skin is looking and feeling.
As a professional therapist I am always guided by the ingredient efficacy rather than a particular brand when personalising facials with products.
At home, start by implementing two masks into your multi masking session and go from there.
With so many different mask-ways you could choose from, see below for some general guidance and recommendations that I have personally used currently and in the past.
