Skincare and beauty inspired me from an early age and my enthusiasm for researching and writing, naturally evolved from my time studying at the London College of Fashion. Here I studied all about the science of the skin. It captured my imagination, understanding how the skin and all the systems of the body worked in synergy with one another and how ingredients can work in harmony to help maintain a healthy skin and lifestyle approach.
My career started in the heart of London, working as a Facial and Body Specialist for many leading skin and spa brands like Clarins, Aveda and Elemis. I transitioned from Skincare Specialist to become a trainer then on to my most rewarding position as Skin and Spa Educator. This enabled me to travel all over the UK, Scotland, Ireland and further a field to beautiful Scandinavia. Educating therapists and salons in the art of skincare and wellness rituals, helping to inspire and build their businesses.
I created bespoke treatments for Liberty London Beauty Room on behalf of Aveda, which was a career highlight for me and something I adored doing.
I also worked closely with PR departments of leading beauty brands to launch new facial and body treatments on beauty editors and directors of some of the top magazine publications in the UK such as Cosmopolitan, Vogue, Glamour and Look.
I continued my self-development when I took a career break to have my children. I studied for 3 years and qualified in 2018 with my Post-Graduate Diploma in Education and Training.
With two decades of experience in the 'world of beauty' I am using this opportunity to fuse my love of writing with my passion for all things skin and beauty related, creating a space where others can learn and be educated on a variety of topics that will cover in this journal.
I hope you enjoy reading it and hopefully it will inspire you to want to learn more about the 'ever-evolving' world of beauty.
